Dilek Karapınar is a software engineer. She has worked as IT manager at various international investment banks such as Morgan Stanley in the UK and Credit Suisse in Switzerland. She was also a Program Manager at the information technology agency of the Swiss Federal Government. She studied industrial engineering at the University of Linkoping in Sweden, she obtained her Computer Sciemce and Business Management university degree from University of London, and her master’s degree in Advanced Computing from the Imperial College in London. She is fluent in Swedish, English and German.
Assoc. Prof. Barış Karapınar is a Marie Curie Fellow at in Boğaziçi (Bosporus) University in Istanbul. He is also a lead author of United Nation’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). He has worked as a co-leader of a research program at the University of Bern in Switzerland. He teaches graduate courses in the areas of sustainable development, climate change and international trade. Barış pursued his undergraduate studies in International Relations at the Boğaziçi (Bosporus) University in Istanbul. He holds a PhD in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Barış has engaged in policy consultancy for a number of national and international policy institutions, including the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, European Parliament, and Caribbean Community (CARICOM). He has also worked for the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) in London.
Dilek and Barış live in Mashattan and they have three children, Dila, Berin and Aylin.
